To use Signal on your laptop or PC, ensure you install and set it up on your iOS or Android device.
Signal on your Mac will now copy the contacts and contact groups from Signal on your smartphone. The Signal app is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. The default is probably fine but anything will do. The window that used to have the QR code will now ask for you to give Signal a ‘name’ on your Mac. At this point you can put your smartphone down and turn your attention back to your Mac. Once it’s successfully scanned the QR code a confirmation message will appear – tap Link New Device. Now hold up your phone and ‘scan’ the QR code on your Macs screen with the camera in your smartphone. If Signal hasn’t already asked for access to your devices camera, it will now.
